CHILLI CHICKEN

Easy to make chicken recipe at home

Ingredients:

1.                      ½ kg chicken breasts

2.                      ½ teaspoon pepper

3.                      1 egg, beaten

4.                      ¾ cup flour (100 g)

5.                      1 red pepper, sliced

6.                      1 teaspoon salt

7.                      1 green pepper, sliced

8.                      Chilli Sauce

9.                      3 cloves garlic cloves, crushed

10.                 3 tablespoons soy sauce

11.                 2 tablespoons tomato puree

12.                 1 red chilli, chopped

Do It Yourself:

1.     Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

2.     Cut the chicken into thin strips then coat in the egg wash and flour.

3.     Shallow fry for a few minutes on each side, until golden brown.

4.     Add the peppers and fry for another couple of minutes. Remove the chicken and peppers and set aside.

5.     In the same pan, add the garlic, red chilli, soy sauce, tomato purée, and water. Stir and simmer the mixture reduces and is thick and syrupy.

6.     Add back in the chicken and peppers and stir well in the sauce.

7.     Serve with rice.

Ingredients: (Serves 4)


  1. ½ kg chicken

  2. 3 tablespoon coriander powder

  3. 4 tablespoon yoghurt (curd)

  4. 4 green chilli

  5. 2 tablespoon refined oil

  6. 1 pinch red chilli powder

  7. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

  8. 6 curry leaves

  9. 4 tablespoon tomato ketchup

  10. salt as required

Do It Yourself:

  1. Marination: Take a bowl and mix chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, curd and salt together. This marination step is very important and will give this chicken recipe real flavour.

  2. Peel the onions and finely slice them.

  3. Chop the chicken to the desired cubes and wash it thoroughly.

  4. Add the chicken pieces in the above mixture and marinate them. Once the chicken pieces are well coated, keep them aside for 4-6 hours so that flavours are well absorbed.

  5. In a deep-bottomed pan, heat oil in medium flame

  6. Upon oil turns hot, place the marinated chicken pieces in the oil and shallow fry them till cooked or golden from both the sides.

  7. To make the chicken crisp, Remove and cook

  8. Add the green chillies, curry leaves and ketchup.

  9. Mix well till the chicken pieces are well coated and continue to cook over medium heat for 5-6 minutes.

  10. Transfer the dish in a serving bowl and garnish it with chopped spring onions.

  11. Chicken 65 is ready.

  12. Serve as a snack and serve hot!

Ingredients: (Serves 6)

  1. ½ kg shredded chicken

  2. 1 litre chicken stock

  3. 2 large onion

  4. 2 tablespoon all purpose flour

  5. 50 gm butter

  6. 1 carrot

  7. black pepper as required

  8. salt as required

Do It Yourself:

  1. Peel the onions and finely slice them.

  2. Take the carrots, peel and finely dice them.

  3. Put a large pan over medium and add skinned chicken in it.

  4. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes.

  5. Put a large saucepan over low-medium flame and add butter in it.

  6. Let it melt and add the finely sliced onions in it.

  7. Saute until the onions are pink in colour

  8. Add chopped carrots until they start to soften.

  9. Add in the plain flour and stir to mix well with the veggies. Cook for 2 minutes.

  10. Add the chicken stock in the pan, and bring the mixture to the a boil, stirring continuously.

  11. Sprinkle salt and black pepper powder as per your taste and then stir well.

  12. Reduce the flame to low until the mixture is cooking.

  13. Let the soup simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

  14. Once the veggies are tender, add the cooked (boiled) chicken to the saucepan and cook until heated through.

  15. Add salt as per taste, black pepper powder & garnish

  16. Serve hot!
